ELON IS GIVING EVERY KID IN AMERICA ONE SHARE OF SPACEX, ALLEGEDLY

Elon Musk posted on X just before 4 a.m. Monday that next year he'll hand one of his SpaceX shares to "every kid in America," and that this "will be the first of many." Then he stopped typing. No age cutoff, no eligibility rules, no reply to the accounts asking whether he meant citizens or every kid currently standing on American soil. The timing is not a mystery. A day earlier, Anthropic said it was committing at least 5% of its equity to a public benefit fund. Musk replied that the shares should go directly to the public, then announced he'd be the guy doing it. Nothing moves a billionaire like a competitor being generous in the wrong format. The math: about 72 million Americans under 18, and SpaceX closed Friday at $146.03, so the pledge lands around $10.5 billion. Musk holds roughly 6.42 billion shares, so he's parting with a bit over 1% of his SpaceX position while sitting on a net worth near $908 billion. Very nice of him, and also the cheapest possible way to get 72 million households emotionally invested in his stock price. Trump took the handoff on Truth Social, thanked his "legendary friend," and declared the shares will run through Trump Accounts, the tax-advantaged under-18 accounts Treasury rolled out in July. So the branding is finished. The rules have not been started.

ONE ROTTED $20 FROM THE D.B. COOPER RANSOM JUST SOLD FOR $134,200

A single $20 bill from the D.B. Cooper ransom sold for $134,200 at a Heritage Auctions currency sale this month. Face value: twenty dollars. That is 6,710 times what the Treasury had in mind, for a piece of paper that spent nine years rotting underground. Quick refresher for anyone who skipped the 1971 portion of American crime history. A man calling himself Dan Cooper hijacked a Northwest Orient 727 out of Portland, said he had a bomb, and collected $200,000 in ten thousand twenty-dollar bills. He jumped out the back of the plane over southwest Washington and nobody has found him since. In February 1980, an 8-year-old named Brian Ingram was digging in the sand along the Columbia River and turned up three disintegrating bundles totaling roughly $5,800. The FBI matched the serial numbers. That is still the only piece of the money anyone has ever recovered. The winning scrap measures about 4.5 inches by 1.5 inches, which is enough to show Andrew Jackson, both seals, and the serial number that proves where it came from. That completeness is the whole ballgame. Back in 2024, a tiny fragment showing only the Federal Reserve district seal went for $4,000. Collectors are paying by the square inch of unsolved mystery.

TAYLOR SWIFT SKIPPED THE CHIEFS GAME, EXCEPT SHE WENT TO THE CHIEFS GAME

Shane Gillis hosted SNL on October 10 and spent a chunk of his monologue on how women dress at the gym, including calling them "whores." Kelce, 37, liked the show's Instagram clip of it. Swifties audit that account like forensic accountants, so the screenshots were up almost immediately. The defense arrived through the usual channel. A source close to Kelce told Page Six he's always been a massive fan of the show and was supporting a friend. Fans came back with receipts about which monologues he had not bothered to like. Supporting a friend, sure. Just not every friend. Then the gossip mill got greedy. Columnist Rob Shuter reported that Swift, 36, and Kelce were taking time apart, and that she would skip the Chiefs home game against the Chargers, with a source insisting the weekend was about Taylor and her career. Every word of that came from people who would not give their names. On Sunday she flew in from the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, sat in a suite at Arrowhead in a red Louis Vuitton turtleneck with Caitlin Clark and Este Haim, and hugged Donna Kelce. Kansas City won 22-9 and moved to 5-0. The trial separation lasted about seventy-two hours and was never real. The only piece anybody actually stood behind was the like, and the confirmation came from Kelce's own camp explaining it.

EAGLES DOCTORS TOLD HURTS NOT TO SLEEP, THEN STARTED HIM IN LONDON

Jalen Hurts is done for the year. The Eagles and his agent Nicole Lynn said Monday that the quarterback has deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli, the medical phrasing for clots that traveled from his leg into both lungs. He's on blood thinners for at least three months, which rules out contact, which rules out football. The statement says his prognosis is very good with no expected long-term effects, and that's the only part of this anyone should actually be relieved about. Now the timeline Philly would rather you skip. Specialists in London diagnosed a superficial clot in his left calf and cleared him. Ian Rapoport reported Hurts was in a London hospital until 4 a.m. on game day and played without sleeping because sleep was a risk, and Tom Pelissero put him at roughly 36 hours awake at kickoff, though Lynn later told Pelissero that Hurts did sleep once he rejoined the team in a room the Eagles set aside at the stadium. Nap or no nap, a guy with a clot in his calf threw 40 passes that afternoon, went 21 of 40 for 220 and a touchdown in a 19-17 loss, and then got on a plane across an ocean. On Monday the organization made exactly one person available. Not Howie Roseman. Not the medical staff. Nick Sirianni, who pointed to the same doctors and trainers who got 21 of 22 starters available for the Super Bowl, a hell of a stat for a completely different press conference. Tanner McKee has the offense now after going 26 of 45 for 215 yards in a 25-14 loss to Carolina. Philly is 2-4 and has lost four straight.

PM GOES ON NATIONAL TV TO CONFIRM THAT RAMMING AN MP TWICE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT

Helen Haines, 65, the independent MP for Indi, was standing at the back of her car outside her Wangaratta electorate office on Monday afternoon, taking things out of the boot. Police say a white Toyota Land Cruiser came down Murphy Street about 3:35pm, turned around, and rammed her. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says witnesses saw the driver reverse and hit her a second time before a bystander hauled him out of the vehicle. Civilians held the man until police arrived, which is the only part of this you can feel good about. A 43-year-old from Tarrawingee was arrested at the scene and spent the night in custody. Police seized a knife from inside the Toyota. Haines was airlifted to The Alfred in Melbourne, had surgery for wounds to her lower body, and remains critical. The ABC reports she has lost a leg and doctors are fighting to save the other. Anthony Albanese got on the ABC and said it plainly: this was not an accident, and nobody knows the motive. Victoria Police are leading, with the AFP, ASIO and the Joint Counter Terrorism Team all in. Four agencies, one bloke in custody, zero answers. Police are treating it as isolated. Haines was a nurse and midwife before entering parliament in 2019, where she spent years nagging the major parties into building a national anti-corruption watchdog. Political violence is rare in Australia. Threats and harassment aimed at politicians are not, and the federal police numbers have been climbing all year.
