Rise and grind, let's get this week started!
NORTH KOREA EMPTIED $6.3 BILLION OUT OF BINANCE IN 20 MINUTES
The FBI said on October 31 that North Korea's TraderTraitor unit took $6.3 billion out of Binance, the largest crypto heist ever recorded. Most of it moved in about 20 minutes. Co-CEO Richard Teng described a compromised laptop and malware written to delete evidence of its own activity, which is a hell of a thing to admit about the world's biggest exchange. The same crew held the old record, $1.5 billion from Bybit in February 2025. Then the politics got weird. Hours after the bureau named Pyongyang, Trump was asked about it at a Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago and said we don't know if it's North Korea, per AP and Al Jazeera. He had already hedged in the Oval Office the day before with "we're looking at that." So the FBI has an attribution, a list of wallet addresses and a request that exchanges freeze them, and the President has a shrug. Binance, to its credit, paid. It set aside more than $6.34 billion of company funds, said it had replaced 90% of the stolen assets by Saturday and roughly 95% by Sunday, with the stragglers being illiquid tokens nobody can buy in bulk. Withdrawals reopened in phases starting with bitcoin on November 1. Customers thanked them by yanking $5.8 billion off the platform in 24 hours, according to DefiLlama.
POLICE DOG EATS A PILE OF ROCKS BECAUSE THEY SMELLED LIKE BEEF SANDWICHES
Grand Rapids K-9 Rocco went under the knife after loading his stomach with landscaping rocks, and the only suspect in this case is a crock pot. His handler, Austin Diekevers, made beef sandwiches, then threw the leftover scraps off his deck for the chickens. Some of the juice hit the landscaping rocks. Rocco, a police dog whose entire job is finding things by smell, found them. Diekevers says it happened in the few minutes it took him to put the crock pot away. He caught Rocco chewing, called the vet, and got told that if the dog was still eating, drinking and having normal bowel movements, he was probably fine. A day later Rocco stopped eating. Diekevers felt his stomach and could actually hear the rocks in there, which is the worst sound a dog owner has ever described out loud. X-rays at the Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Byron Center showed a stomach full of stones, surgery followed, and Rocco spent about 24 hours there before heading home. It was his second trip to that hospital this year. In April he impaled his leg on a fire pit and needed blood transfusions to survive. The hospital is now taking guesses on how many rocks came out, with no prize attached, just bragging rights.

Answer hidden60 GRAMS OF PEANUTS A DAY MADE OLD BRAINS WORK BETTER
Researchers at Maastricht University Medical Center handed 31 healthy adults aged 60 to 75 premeasured packets of unsalted, skin-roasted peanuts and told them to eat 60 grams a day, roughly two servings, for 16 weeks. Then everyone got an MRI. Insulin responsiveness improved in a cluster of right-hemisphere regions including the hippocampus, which matters because the aging brain gets worse at responding to insulin and that slide tracks with cognitive decline. The same trial already produced the numbers that got everyone's attention. Global cerebral blood flow up 3.6%. Verbal memory up 5.8% on delayed recall. Systolic and pulse pressure both down. Decent résumé for a food that usually lives in a bar bowl under a dozen unwashed hands. Now the fine print, because there's a lot of it. Thirty-one people is a small room. Executive function and psychomotor speed didn't move at all, so your recall sharpens while your decision making stays exactly as dumb as it was Tuesday. The researchers said plainly they did not show that peanuts prevent cognitive decline or dementia. And the research was supported by the Peanut Institute Foundation, which is the least shocking funding disclosure in the history of nutrition science.

WU-TANG CLAN IS PLAYING THANKSGIVING HALFTIME AT 1 P.M. ON CBS... GOOD LUCK TO THE CENSOR
Wu-Tang Clan is headlining the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving halftime show. The Lions host the Bears at Ford Field on November 26 in the 87th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic, kickoff 1 p.m. ET on CBS, which means a Staten Island rap collective gets a national broadcast slot at the exact hour your aunt is carving a bird. Eminem and Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg picked them. It's year two of their deal as executive producers of the show. Last year they went with Jack White plus a surprise Eminem cameo, a seven-and-a-half-minute set the Lions turned around into a mini-album called "Live from Ford Field" the next day. Split seven and a half minutes evenly across Wu-Tang and everybody's getting under a minute, so one of these men is coming out for a single bar and a wave. The booking lands in a loud year for the group. They're wrapping the farewell tour, "Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber," and they get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 14, twelve days before they have to perform between a punt and a Ford commercial. Michigan native Antonio Cipriano sings the anthem. The Bears, who actually lead Detroit 11-9 in Thanksgiving meetings, will spend the whole thing in the tunnel hearing it through concrete.
ITALY'S 73 YEAR WAIT FOR AN F1 CHAMPION IS OVER
Kimi Antonelli went into the 71-lap race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez needing a ninth place finish to wrap up the championship. He finished third, taking the last podium spot off Charles Leclerc after the Ferrari locked up and handed it over. He is 20 years old, and Sebastian Vettel's youngest-champion record from 2010 is now trivia. Vettel congratulated him publicly, because what else is there to do. Max Verstappen won the race by 0.799 seconds over Lewis Hamilton, who started on pole, did not win, and afterward said Ferrari have "big problems." It was Verstappen's sixth win in Mexico and it moved him up to second in the standings, a comfortable 119 points behind the 20-year-old. Final tally: Antonelli 380, Verstappen 261. The history is the part that stings for everyone else. Italy had not produced a Formula 1 world champion since Alberto Ascari in 1953, a 73-year wait that ended on a Sunday night in Mexico. Antonelli is the 36th different driver to win the thing, and the second first-time champion in two years after Lando Norris in 2025. Then Verstappen and Hamilton, with 11 titles between them, hoisted him in the air, which is about as close to a formal handover as this sport gets.
