VIKINGS ARE 4-0, DEAD LAST IN PASSING, AND JUST SIGNED A RECEIVER WITH ZERO CATCHES

VIKINGS ARE 4-0, DEAD LAST IN PASSING, AND JUST SIGNED A RECEIVER WITH ZERO CATCHES

Minnesota is 4-0 and last in the NFL in passing yards, which means they are winning football games without meaningfully throwing the ball to anyone. The fix, announced Wednesday: Odell Beckham Jr. Not to the 53-man roster. To the practice squad, alongside Michael Briscoe and Dillon Bell. Beckham arrives from the Giants, who released him Sept. 29 after three games with one target and no catches. Twenty offensive snaps total, six of them in a 12-7 win over Tennessee, which is a final score and not a typo. Coach John Harbaugh said New York wasn't getting enough out of the roster spot, which is a gentle way of saying they were paying a grown man to stretch. Kevin O'Connell called him personally, and he does have receipts. O'Connell was the Rams offensive coordinator in 2021 when Beckham put up 27 catches and five touchdowns in eight games, then tore his ACL in the Super Bowl he helped win. Since then: a year in Baltimore, a year in Miami, a six-game PED suspension, and all of 2025 out of football. He's 33, he's got 7,987 career receiving yards, and he's wearing No. 9 in Minnesota because Tai Felton already took 13. O'Connell has not ruled out elevating him Sunday at New Orleans. Justin Jefferson's ankle and Jordan Addison's hamstring may make that decision for him.

Why you should give a shit: Minnesota's answer to the league's worst passing attack costs nothing, risks nothing, and so far this season has caught nothing, which tells you exactly how much that 4-0 is actually worth.
