PEACOCK SOLVES THE O.J. CASE 32 YEARS LATE, TWO YEARS AFTER HE DIED
Peacock just greenlit OJ's Accomplice, a two part documentary arriving in December that promises "real evidence" Simpson had help. Real evidence. Which raises a question about the previous three decades of O.J. documentaries, every one of which was also sold to you as the definitive one. The pitch is that law enforcement never seriously considered a second person, and that never before heard eyewitness accounts suggest someone in Simpson's inner circle was there on June 12, 1994. The interview list includes Kato Kaelin, who is still fielding questions about thumps on a guest house wall from 1994, and one of Nicole Brown Simpson's sisters. Peacock has not named the alleged accomplice in the announcement, which is a confident move when the accomplice is in the title. The Daily Mail says it reviewed leaked clips built around a mob linked Simpson associate who died in 2006, and that a Brown sister emailed the paper calling the theory "a bunch of BS." The production company, Ample, also made Netflix's This Is The Zodiac Speaking, so its record on closing famous cases has room to grow. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 after an eight month trial, found liable in the civil case, and died in 2024.
Why you should give a shit: If the evidence is real, a second killer walked for 32 years while the LAPD stopped looking, and if it isn't, Peacock built a December ad campaign on two graves.
